COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND INCLUSIVITY

I have actively served my community in a variety of ways these past 30+ years on:

  • as a Police manager I routinely engaged our community, by bringing people together, resolving conflicts, conducting town hall meetings, and utilizing city resources to develop creative solutions for some pretty challenging conflicts.
  • the Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative for 10+ years, promoting character values throughout our community and in our schools.
  • Hope Hospice Board of Directors, as board president I resolved a 2-million-dollar operating deficit and termed out with funds to replenish our reserves.
  • Special Olympics
  • Widmer World Christmas Display, contributing months of work each year for over 25 years to bring some holiday cheer to Pleasanton
  • Foothill Band Boosters helped organize parades and field shows.
  • Founded the Pleasanton Police Officers Charitable Foundation in 1993 to support the needy in our community

My active community participation reflects my commitment to democracy, transparency, and inclusivity in local governance. By promoting principles such as transparency, integrity, open communication, and inclusivity in decision-making processes, I strive to empower residents and strengthen civic engagement.

By creating opportunities for residents to participate in public forums, town hall meetings, and advisory committees, I seek to foster a culture of collaboration and partnership between government and the community.

Furthermore, my commitment to transparency and open communication ensures that residents are informed about government decisions, policies, and initiatives. By providing accessible information and opportunities for feedback, we will promote accountability and trust in local government.
